Background:
Phil has been employed with the Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife Service since 1998. In that time he has been based at a number of locations including Arltunga Historical Reserve, Litchfield National Park and also Garig Gunak Barlu National Park. Prior to 1998 he worked in Kakadu National Park, Eurobodalla National Park in NSW and the Grampians in Victoria. As part of the training for these various positions he completed a Batchelor of Applied Science, (Parks Recreation and Heritage)  through Charles Sturt University.
Role at Dhimurru:
Phil's position has been funded by the NT Government as part of a joint agreement with Dhimurru, Northern Land Council and Environment Australia. His main role is assisting Dhimurru rangers in the day to day management of the Indigenous Protected Area, and also assisting with facilitation of training.
Comment:
I feel extremely lucky to work with Dhimurru. They are extremely welcoming to me, and have taught me a great deal about land management and also Yolngu culture through our day to day activities. I am glad to be part of a 'both-ways' land management team.
